It will help you live a better life on the other side of your struggle.Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. – 2 Corinthians 7:10
Hope in the Lord
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31

the bitterness and the gall.
I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. – Hebrews 6:19-20a
As you place your hope in God, you have an anchor for your soul. It keeps you strong and secure on the hardest days. You can enter God’s very presence while holding onto this anchor. God wants you to draw close to him during your depression.
Jesus has paved the path of intimacy with God for you. Pour out your heart to him in prayer while holding fast to hope. God will strengthen you with compassion and comfort.
Hope Leads to Joy
Joy is an antidote to depression. It isn’t happiness, which depends on circumstances. Joy is rooted in the ultimate hope you can find in God alone. During the affliction of your depression, God is growing your joy through patience.Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. – Romans 12:12
As you lift your concerns to him every day in prayer, he will strengthen your hope and give you fresh joy. Your depression matters to God, and he will bring good things out of it.
Encouragement and Strength
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
